well you could start learning 3d modelling, there is blender for example, its easy to use, freeware and creating RE-like rooms is really simple.

or wait for c2keo to present us some new stuff Sad

Yeah well I know Maya and all that stuff, but the problem is there aren't any tutorials out there for modeling rooms and environments. I've looked everywhere for them. Plenty of tutorials on modeling objects and characters though..

Besides, the main issue would be editing the .bss files, if I'm not mistaken those define collisions? They haven't been cracked yet.

What do you mean by "RE-like"? As in, 3d rooms turned into 2d pre-rendered backgrounds? Yeah that's pretty easy. And I would imagine with some good modeling skills, it wouldn't be too difficult to do more authentic RE-style ones. But I've yet to see anyone put out anything that comes close to how close c2keo's remakes and versions are to legitimate classic RE backgrounds.

As for c2keo himself, I still talk to him once in a while. He's extremely busy with work and his own stuff. He doesn't really have much motivation to do any more right now, so I don't think we'll see any more for a while. If he could get the motivation, he would do more, but he wants them to be used in a real authentic kind of 1.5 "remake" project and nobody (who has the capability) is up to the task right now.

I've experimented and attempted to make a 3D room in Maya before, there's more to it than just creating a box and adding textures to it. I still need to learn how to make gates, ladders, poles and pillars, broken obstacles, tables, desktop computers, desks, chairs, and any other objects that makes a room feel complete. It's very difficult. As for rendering a complete 3D room into a 2D background, its easy.

If the .bss files were cracked, you could create a basic collision room mesh in a 3D application that matches the 1.5 backgrounds. But again, it all comes down to those .bss files or so I've heard. I really don't know..

I know Dominion and/or c2keo had to have cracked those .bss files, why they don't tell us how is beyond me. Maybe it's the whole "I got something you don't" thinking.

I doubt there modifing the console versions at all wasn't the dark biohazard mod meant to include parts of re1, 2 and 3 working together, I seem to remember something about reworking re3 to work with re2's engine.

Anybody interested in Dino Crisis 2's engine? i've been playing about with file swaps on the psone version using ppf patches that fix up the EDC/ECC data properly Smile

I see, well that's cool I guess. I'm not trying to sound rude or anything but this got off topic. Dino Crisis has nothing to do with 1.5 Confused

This is what I managed to make in Maya, while not as good as c2keo's work you get the idea.. With enough practice I'll be able to remake some 1.5 scenes.

Anyway we should get this back on topic really.

Virus kick ass job on the backgrounds. Your getting there buddy! Smile
