Hi Everyone,

Anybody here familar with the L4D authoring tool (on STEAM) ?
Some projects are working in progress like RE 2 complete campaigns & RE 3 Streets by MODers. Some others are already realized like RE 2 RPD map.
But nobody thank to create a RE 1.5 map MOD ?
It will be great. How can we group our forces here to realize this project ?
Do you think the work will be too difficult ?
Do we possess enough materials for create a complete level ?

Get out.. Rolling Eyes

Anyways... back on topic.

It could happen but it most likely won't. I've tried making maps but I'm not very good and it takes awhile to get the hang of it(at least for me). I eventually lost interest. It takes awhile to become a good mapper and unfortunately most mappers I've run into or know won't do requests. Sad

Is there an engine which could easily carry over into an RE game? And by that I mean that you can set cameras triggered by characters crossing into bounding boxes or however it is they trigger the cam changes. Is L4D capable of doing that?

Somewhat, I'd say just use Half-Life 2, not L4D... which isn't very mod friendly.(trust me) And don't get "mod" confused with "maps" which is what you guys keep talking about. Razz

Here's a good example, this was all done without any coding! He's added an inventory menu and shows an example of different camera angles.

Yes, the first intention is only to create a RE 1.5 map as a good L4D environnement for playing L4D. But those were playing the RPD map add-on have seen that some new objects were established like the licorn medal and a key. That's prove the possibility for MODing a complete RE 1.5 campaign. But first, the environment map will just be marvellous as we are waiting since so many years to play something seems to be RE 1.5

Kept expecting Cerberus to jump through the windows. The room was a little too much like the East Hallway of the RE Mansion.

Might be an idea to ask the guys that made the RE2 campaign and see if they would be interested.

I on the other hand will wait till RE2 is fully able to be modified then recreate
RE1.5. ETA 2037.

MarkGrass is slowly working out the RDT scripting, I found the boundries, so all that really needs to be resolved is the damn ADT format.

PmData, more or less, has figured out most of it, so majority of the credit goes to him. I've learned quite a bit on my own, though...

And about the ADT format: Yeah, it's a damned shame noone has fully cracked this format, yet. MonkeyMan2000 came close, but quit for uni-work (+ he was asking for $ donations? ftw?). PmData once mentioned that he was going to make a de/packer, but haven't heard anything about it, since, and it's been a couple months...

Lol, if he did, he wouldn't get much since the RE modding community is so god damn small and I am a Uni student as well. Probably needs money to eat.
